The idea for Queen of Hearts was created during a search in my cluttered studio. The manikin had been sitting in the corner saying “what will I be” for a few months and on this particular day I looked down into a basket of jewelry pieces and saw a number of different hearts. The idea was born. I cut leather in various colors, found hearts in all media and sizes, and cut decorated metal into heart shapes.While adorning the ‘Queen’ I thought of all of the quotes about the heart as the center of our emotions. I incorporated a number of these in the art piece. Can you find them?
